Why We Love

As humans we attempt  is to to increase our abilities and our effectiveness.  To accomplish this we forms bonds and relationships with people within our communities.  We often "fall in love" with people that we are attracted to and find appropriate for us; however, we also tend toward people who we perceive are also drawn towards us.  Romances are often the result of an extended period of time with a person.  This notion differs from the Hollywood romance ideal, "love at first sight."  The two greatest characteristics that kindle a romance are kindness and intelligence.  Although attractiveness does not hinder ones ability to form a relationship, kindness and intelligence lend themselves towards promoting long-term successful romances.
